NOTES FROM THE SEEDMAKER

This line been an amazing to dive into. IMO, it is one of the missing puzzle pieces that I’ve been hunting for over the past 8 years in this crazy skunk program.

Parents: The bagseed line was found in an old army ammo tin that was stashed from the 70’s. This older gentleman was stationed in Korea as an officer. He was a desk guy, but loved his hippy sessions. When the vietnam war ended, he brought back a couple film containers full of seeds that he stashed in his military gear and tucked away in an old warehouse. (As I know it, he never even grew weed.)

50+ years later he passed away and his family started cleaning out the warehouse and almost tossed the film containers. A longtime friend of the family instantly called me up and said i got some old ass seeds for ya…think they are any good? If not, they are going in the trash. I said I’ll definitely take a look. lol. I figured he was gonna give me a handful, but when he showed up with this film container, it was plum full…he gave me the entire film container!

There were all different kinds of strains that he collected while he was in the Netherlands and Korea. More than half of the seeds where white with no meat, but the other half were light brown to dark. germination rates were only 30% but that’s all i needed. I ran through 25 beans so far–from short broad leaf indicas to tall, narrow leaf Thais, hazes, Mexicans, Colombians and landrace-looking old heirloom sativas.

Female: I found a stinky, frosty Thai leaner that really stood out. Sticky strong burnt rubber, coffee and skunk is there, but i noticed after she dried for a few days the aroma almost disappeared.

Male: Old ’81 Afghani seeds gifted to me by Heime. The seeds were from Albion Mendocino. Short squat indica line that holds more of a dead animal roadkill aroma. The only thing this freak passed over is how to hold that aroma after hanging on the line for a week. He stated the skunk didn’t come until passing clones in Northern Seattle.
